The Puhoro design is always positioned on the thigh and/or buttocks but more importantly for us wahine on the LEFT side of our tinana (body) representing our feminine energy. (Right side of the body is our masculine side)  

Our puhoro ta moko design represents speed and agility on our strongest muscle group in our body, our gluteus maximus (buttocks) while balancing our feminine energies. Wahine Toa stands for strong brave warrior women after all!
